Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

I'm currently in a long term relationship with the mother of my son, but I have to throw her out. She does drugs constantly, doesn't contribute financially, barely even acknowledges the boy's presence and doesn't do a thing around the house. What are some steps I can take before throwing her out to prevent her from using her female advantage to legally take my son with her?
