Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Lowering Child Support

I have recently been able to have my kids start staying more days over night at my residence. Is there a process to lowering my child support payments? they stay with me 10 nights out of the month or 3 days a week.

Re: Lowering Child Support

You might be able to lower your support depending on whether a shared parenting work sheet was used to calculate child suppor the first time.

Without more information, if the court didn't use a shared parenting work sheet when your child support was initially calcuated, then this is a substantial change in circumstances. With this change, you can recalculate child support with a shared parenting work sheet which will lower your child support.
