Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

I am the main caretaker for my 1 year old child. I work to support both my child & myself. His father lives in my parents house with me, spends his money on himself, charges up his credit card bills, & has mental problems & is unable to care for my son on his own. I want to seperate from his father & remove him from my house & take him back to his parents house. We've never been married, & his name is on the birth certificate. What are my rights & what are his rights? Would I be able to set up supervised visitation for his father as apposed to joint custody?
