marriage counseling
Is there any law that would cause my wife and I to have to attend marriage counseling prior to getting a divorce. She wants to divorce and I want us to attempt to reconcile the marriage. Can I cause her to have to go to counseling?

No, no, there is no law that forces her to try to save the marriage. I suggest that you do find an attorney who is experienced in divorce matters (I am) and get some expert advice as to what your options are, and what plans you should now make. I also strongly, strongly suggest that you speak to a counsellor yourself; you almost certainly can use some good advice as to how to deal with this, how possibly to try to save your marriage, and how to deal with it if you can not.

No, you can't force her to do anything like that. As Mr. Davies said, you should at least speak with an attorney to figure out what your options are and what plans you should make if this goes down.
