Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
marriage
I got married on Dec 1, 2006 I got married in NJ. My husband lives in GA and I recently found out that he has a drug abuse problem. Will I still be liable if he gets in trouble even though we are in two different states?

Re: marriage
Unless you are with him you are not responsible for his criminal acts.
I should advise that his failure to advise you of his drug addiction is grounds for annuling your marriage.
Call me if you like.

Re: marriage
I have read what the other attorney wrote. As usual, Gary is correct.
If he is in Georgia a week after marrying you, and has drug problems and criminal problems, why in the world do you want to be his wife?
It sounds like there is a lot more going on that you have not said. If I can help you, I will.

Re: marriage
The other attorneys did a good job of responding to your question. I don't see what you are liable for?
