married in another country in 1988

The mother of my 2 kids is from Honduras. She got married in Honduras in 1988 and they were together for only 6 months (young & dumb). They separated and she came here to New Jersey and he stayed in Honduras. No children. No assets. No contact. She and I have 2 kids together and want to get married. We tried locating him in Honduras but were unable to. She has family in Honduras who tried locating him to no avail. What can we do to get married?

She has to demonstrate to the Court that she has made all reasonable efforts to located her husband in order to obtain an order permitting her to serve him with the divorce complaint by publishing same once in The Record classified ads section.
