Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

married paying child support

I am now married paying child support for a child that is now 3 yrs old. I am about to have one with my wife, is there anything I can do to lower my child support so that me and my wife can afford to have this child?

Re: married paying child support

yes you can get relief called the ODD "other dependent deduction" once the new child is born...You will probably be required to produce your wife's income to the court "in camera" to protect her privacy if the court allows that protection it may redact her information but I think it may not be granted otherwise. Some judges do not grant the ODD without such disclosure.

I would have an attorney review your most recent CS worksheet to see if you are over paying.
