Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

if i am married almost one year in new jersey, and i am recieving unemployment is it possible for me to recieve money to get an apartment if my husband is making a decent amount of money? Is a marriage null and void if my husband was married before and did not present the divorce papers on the day we were married?

For such a short marriage, alimony is not likely. A judge may give you a short term support order, or a lump sum to get on your feet. If your husband makes a lot more than you, he would be misguided to not settle for those terms.

As to the validity of the marriage, if he was legally divorced at the time of your marriage, his failure to produce his divorce papers is irrelevant at this time. If he was not legally divorced, he is a bigamist and an annulment is the remedy.
