Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
I have been married for 24 years and the last 9 years I stayed home with our kids. My husband decided to have an affair and wants a divorce. Why do i have to pay for a lawyer and where does he think I am going to get the money for a retainer fee? What if I say no I don't want a divorce?

Contesting a divorce is not really an option. If someone wants a divorce, they get one. It seems like he will have to pay you alimony so you will have some income at some point. To start off a case, you could put a small retainer on a credit card. Call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss this further. I have an office in Toms River.
If he has the funds to pay your lawyer and you do not, he pays your lawyer. You need only have a small retainer to hire an attorney under such circumstances.
Secondly, in New Jersey no effort is made to make it hard to get a divorce. Actually, you can not stop your husband from getting a divorce, in court.
Call me if you like. I note that you are probably in the Ocean County area. I am in Bergen County.
