Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Matrimonial question

I agreed to allow my ex to claim our 3 kids for tax purposes in our court ordered divorce decree. I live in the state of new jersey. I was told that because i agreed to it in the agreement that i cannot get it changed now for me to be able to claim the children. They reside with me, i have full residential custody.

Re: Matrimonial question

Hi:

Unless you have proof and a lot of $ for counsel fees to take your husband back to court, unfortunately I believe that you are stuck. Sorry!

Good Luck

Re: Matrimonial question

You need to get it changed which shouldn't be that hard to do. I suggest you see an attorney to look over the entire decree to make sure there is nothing else that needs to be fixed.

My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.

Re: Matrimonial question

To change it you would have to go to court and get the court's permission since it is in the decree.
