Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

medical health insurance for spouse

My daughter is divorcing her husband in the very near future. She is now covered along with the children under his work's medical plan, in New Jersey. Until the divorce is final, does he lawfully have to keep her and the children on the medical insurance? She works full time but her employer does not offer medical insurance. Thank You.

Thank you for your inquiry.

During the divorce, the husband shall be required by law to keep the entire family on his medical insurance.

It would be my pleasure to speak to you about your daughter's potential divorce. Accordingly, please feel free to contact my office at 732 246 0909 to discuss further.

Very truly yours,

Yes he MUST maintain all insurance coverages for her and the children. When he files his first pleading in the divorce he will be required to certify what insurance coverages are in force. You call me at 800 273 7933 if you wish to discuss the matter further.
