Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
I migrated to NJ, USA from Pakistan about 2 years ago with my 3 children & a husband. In my back home in Pakistan my job was far more superior than my husband. So, I purchaed a couple of residential land plots. I got US immigration through my father. My husband's was never cooperative to me or children ( I have 3 children from him eldest 16 years old daugther and the youngest 7 year old son from my husband). My husbands ultimate goal was to get US immigration, after arriving here his behavior got worst and he moved to IL close to his brother. The property I made in Pakistan is on my name only as it is from my income. Now he is planning to divorce me so that he could get 50% of my property as per American Law, whereas he was not eligible for it as per Pakistani Law.
As per USA Law, is my husband eligible to get 50% of my property (on my name) in Pakistan if he files divorce in USA? How I can save my property?
