Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Minor's Name Change

I am looking for information regarding a name change for minor children. I have a 12, 10 , 7 & 4 year old children. I want to change their last names to my married last name. They have a father who is totally uninvolved and a stepfather who participates in every facet of their lives. Their natural father refuses to give permission for a name change without the elimination of child support. Does anyone know how old the children have to be before they are allowed to change their name without their natural father's permission in the state of New Jersey? Does anyone know where I can find this info? Thanks

Re: Minor's Name Change

The natural father demands elimination of child support...nice. Very nice.

You need to get a lawyer to assist. I do name changes and I do divorces, but I would have to spend a bit of time looking this up for you.

Let me know if you would like to hire me. Seems like you may have some other issues with their father, as well.
