Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Modification of child support
I am supposed to have joint legal custody of our 2 boys, who had resided witht their father. On August 27th, our younger child who has had behavior issues was left at a respite facility and is now thankfully in a group home that is near me (his mom). He is not living with me because of his behavior issues. Furthermore, he had disconnected his phones and I was without contact of our older son for over a month. I have contacted several different lawyers, all of whom want astronomical fees without any guarantee that anything will be done beneficially from my perspective. I am still paying child support on 2 children when he only cares for one. I would like suggestions on the best way to proceed. Are there any lawyers out there who actually care about the truth? I really, really need someone to help.
