Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
Can I move from NJ to Fl with my kids without court's permission?
The way I want to go about this is send a certified leter to dad (we currently have joint custody) stating my intention to move from NJ to FL to take care of my sick mother. Tell him he has 30 days to serve me with court papers if he objects (put the ball in his court), if he does not serve me with an objection then I will assume he has no objections and I will go ahead and make an appointment with the mediator for us to work out a visitation schedule. Is this appropriate or do I first need to ask the courts permission?

If your husband remains silent and you move, he can then tell a court that you moved without his permission. His silence is not automatically equal to consent.
Call me if you like.

Unless you get his consent, I would file a motion. Call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.
