Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

I moved to New Jersey from Nebraska in August 2011. I want to move back to Nebraska a year later. My daughters father lives in New York, and has lived there since my daughter was 1, she is now 4.

Can I go back and what grounds does he have to stop me?

My parents are in Nebraska and frankly I cannot afford to live in New Jersey anymore. I recently lost my job.

You probably need either: written permission from him to move, or a court order.

Depending on the situation, you could have either serious problems, or very very serious problems if you do not get this and you need this.

I can help you with this.

What? Is there an Order requiring that the child live in New Jersey? How old is the child? Was the child born in New Jersey? If you moved to New Jersey without any formal legal proceedings

AND the child was born BEFORE you move to New Jersey, I do not see why you can not simply move back to Nebraska. Does the father object to your moving back to Nebraska?

There are simply too many unanswer questions for me to give you a reliable answer to your question.
