Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Moving and Homeschooling

I've been planning a short move (under an hour away)out of state since October of last year. My ex agreed it was in the best interest of our child, and we worked out a visitation and transportation arrangement. Immediately after closing on my new home, my ex has decided to revoke his permission for the move unless I sign a document stating that I will not homeschool our child. I have no problem going to court over the school issue, but in the meantime, I'm being blackmailed when he admittedly has no objections to the move, itself. We HAVE to move now, because our lease is almost up. I should have known better than to trust him, but here we are. Can the courts actually do *anything* about the situation?

He has to stand by his word how that you have relied on it in taking on a new financial burdern.

You will have to ask a court to enforce his promise.
