Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Notarized note binding?

My husband & I are divorcing and want our house in My name before we finalize the divorce so I can get the mortgage in my name ASAP. If I get a notarized letter saying that I give up all rights to his retirement and he gives up rights to the house, is this legal & binding should one party change their mind after the note is completed?

Don't be penny wise and pound foolish.

You are talking about marital assets of considerable value and you seem to be trying to save a few thousand dollars when hundreds of thousands of dollars are in play. See an attorney NOW.

Call me if you like.

You seem to be determined to pursue the scheme which you have outlined. Just remembe that a hard head usually results in a sore behind.
