Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
Does a parent still have to pay child support for a 18 year old child that becomes pregnant and chooses to keep the baby? Or does that child become legally an emancipated minor at age 18?

No. The State of New Jersey does not have an actual emancipation age. Furthermore, there is case law in New Jersey standing for the principal that neither pregnancy nor a decision to keep a baby render a child emancipated. However, each case is fact-sensitive and you should consult an attorney about your particular mater.

As the other attorney said, speak to an attorney about the entire situation to work out a plan for emancipation. Call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss.
