Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

My partener and I have a lease for our apartment that expires in Sept and he left.we have been together for 25 years. I only get $885 a month from ss and our rent is $1,055. Does he need to continue paying his half until the lease is up?

All who signed the lease are equally responsible for payment of the rent. Whether he makes the payment voluntarily is another issue. If you are just talking about August and September, the amount in dispute appears to be $1,055. It seems that if your partner does not pay, someone (either the landlord or you) could sue him in Small Claims Court. Collection would then be another issue.
