do I have to pay alimony after retirement?

I got divorced in NJ after 15+ years and my attorney told me the alimony is ''permanent'' We divided my 401K. Do I have to pay alimony after retirement

A permanent, involuntary change of circumstances, such as reaching the retirement age entititles you to apply for a reduction of alimony, based on your new, substantially reduced income.

To pick up on what Mr. Moore said, everything about your retirement will be looked at and you still may wind up paying something. I really suggest you get an attorney to help you here since I ams ure she will get one.
