Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Perjury In Divorce Cases

I am a father who chose to raise my two sons, as my ex-wife was (and is) rarely available for them. She is unable to raise them, but is quite adept at fabricating ways to keep me from doing the job. Beginning three years ago, she instituted a lawsuit per year, each one based on false charges and certifications. There are so many misrepresentations, I don't know where to begin to refute them.

This case is multi-faceted and includes numerous instances of extreme psychological abuse, neglect and intermittent beatings of the children, as well as financial misconduct and numerous violations of the property settlement agreement on her part. I have been advised that the perjury should be the least of my concerns. But it seems to me that when I have three times had judgments tendered against me and have faced possible imprisonment for contempt for provably false certifications, that simple decency dictates that I have some recourse. But I apparrently lack the means to even get the facts on the record. Can anything be done?

Re: Perjury In Divorce Cases

Unless you can prove the falsity of the statements that she made, there really is no recourse. If you can prove that they are wilfully false, you may have some recourse through seeking sanctions against her, however, most law enforcement agencies do not prosecute those types of perjury situations. If you would like to further discuss this matter, please feel free to contact my secretary, Debbie, at 856-795-6700 to schedule a consultation.
