Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

I am the primary residential parent for my 9 1/2 year old son. His father and I never married...I currently live in NJ. I am looking to relocate to California. His father sees him every other weekend from Friday night until Sunday evening. I can currently married and have a daughter with my husband. My husband has employment opportunities out in California. What are the chances that NJ court will allow me to relocate with my son?

The chances are very good, since you have real and clear reasons for this.

I would be happy to meet with you for a free one half hour consultation. After we talk, you can decide what you would like to do. I am one block from the Courthouse.

You should speak to an attorney before doing anything. I have 10 offices in NJ, so call me at 732/773/2768 to discuss.

You'll need to go to Court, where with proper representation your request would be granted. However, it is likely you'll have to allow your son to make visits to NJ over the summer and during extended school breaks. What county is the custody order out of?
