i have a friend whom broke her own restraining order by allowing the perp back into her house. 2 questions...is the order still valid and what are the consequences of her breaking her own order?

The order is in force until it is vacated. The "perp" can be arrested for violating the order but your friend does not have such an order against her and is not violating the order. It is a very strange situation where she can eject him whenever she feels like it.

Your friend could go to court and have the restraining order rescinded.

Actually, I have to disagree with Mr. Moore here. While the order still remains, enforcing it will be rather useless since they got back together.
