Re: pro se motion for emancipation

I do not see the S/S # being a problem but I have seen emancipation motions being lost because of in adequate legal knowledge and this winds up costing more than hiring a lawyer in the first place.

For example, I had a client who paid an extra year of child support because he improperly framed the issues on a Pro Se motion he filed with the help of a paralegal. NJ emancipation law has many minefields for the unwary and is often difficult for lawyers and judges with years of experience.

My best advice would be to consult with a lawyer if you can afford one or you may wind up being penny wise and pound foolish.

It is difficult for me to assess the overall situation as I have no idea what you are looking at. Good Luck!

You must be using an old form. It should not request your social security number.

Call me if you like.

I can't see how that fits into anything. You could call the court and ask. I have a ton of clients that tried this and failed. However, I'm sure you will try to do this pro se and I do wish you luck. If it does not work, call an attorney right away.
