Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Pro-bono attorney needed in NJ

I am a student and single mother living with my parents. I only have a part time job and my legal status in this country is currently unresolved (I have no SS#). I cannot afford legal representation and I am trying to file for child support and custody of my son. The court mediator suggested I get a lawyer but I am having difficulty obtaining one that will take my case because of my financial situation. Can anyone help?

While I usually don't suggest going to family court without an attorney, plenty of people do with various results. There is no reason why you can't do the same. I suggest you down to court and tell them what you want to do and they will help you with the forms.
