Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Purchases made after filing for divorce

If I purchase a home (with my parents co-sign) after I file for divorce can my husband claim any interest or ownership to it? If filing for divorce isn't enough, is there a way to insure that he can't claim anything? Would you advise the following plan instead: Have my parents purchase the home and then ''sell'' or ''transfer'' it to my name? How much would that cost?

Re: Purchases made after filing for divorce

The filing of the divorce complaint marks the factual although not legal end of the marriage. Items purchased after the filing of the divorce complaint are not marital assets unless they were purchased using prefiling marital assets.
