Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

I have a question that seems to be a hot topic on different lawyer based websites. I currently reside in NJ and looking to retire to the state of FL in approx. one year. My problem is that I have a 8 year old son. His father is opposed to the move. Our plan was to go as a family upon my retirement but within the last year we separated. Now obviously he is not going. I am the custodial parent and there is no parental time plan. I basically allow him to see his son whenever he wants and I would continue to do so. I even suggested paying for his visits to FL and my sons visits to NJ anytime that it doesn't require him to miss school. Summers and Spring Breaks included. What's the chances if he doesn't agree that I would have to remain in NJ?
