Question Pertains to bigotmacy

My grandmother was married to two men. One she believed she was divorced from. Her husbands are both deceased. Does she have any legal obligations to the first husband? Can anyone prosicute her for bigotmacy now that both men are dead?

Re: Question Pertains to bigotmacy

If she married the first man and never divorced him she was never lawfully married to the second man. If she divorced the first man and married the second man she was lawfully married to the second man. If she married both men without a divorce she committed bigamy for which there is a five year statute of limitations and if five years have elapsed the second marriage ceremony and both men are deceased she can not be prosecuted for bigamy.
