Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
Do I have any recourse?
There is a criminal investigation currently underway against my child's grandfather involving pornography. At the same time I brought about allegations of neglect against his father due to alcohol related incidents involving my son who is only 8y/o. I asked the court to deny any contact with the grandfather until further notice because of the allegations while asking for other things in regards to his father. The court did not believe me in regards to the issues concerning his father and also partially denied my request for no contact regarding the gfather. My lawyer did not defend my actions nor plead my case properly to the judge nor did my lawyer or the judge address every issue of concern & request in my motion. I don't exactly have the finances for all of this but I can not continue to let this lawyer represent me when she is not working to the best of her ability for me & my son. This is a complicated case (there is more info but too much to include) & I was hoping to have 1 attorney that can properly advise & represent me in both matters and maybe fix what has already gone wrong. Do I have any recourse & what would be the best type of attorney to seek? I am almost 30days out from the court hearing. I appreciate any help

If what you say about the father and grandfather is true you have recourse. You should call me to discuss your situation.
Call me if you like.

Re: Do I have any recourse?
Because you are 30 days out, you cannot file a motion for reconsideration. A motion for reconsideration has to be filed within 20 days. You have 45 days to file an appeal with Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey if this is a final Order. If the Order is Pendente Lite, different rules apply.
I would be happy to follow up with you. Please email me directly or call my office if you would like to schedule an appointment either in person or by telephone. My contact information is listed in the links below.
