Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Reimbursement for health benefits

Through my divorced my ex husband is responsible for 75% of the health insurance on our son that I receive through my job.. My employer pays half of the insurance which was considered a raise. How can I receive this from my ex instead of him benefiting from my raise?

Re: Reimbursement for health benefits

You need to get from your employer a statement as to how much of the health insurance cost is allocable to your son and how much to you. Then, if your ex-husband refuses to reimburse you for this voluntarily, then a motion can be brought to enforce the judgment. You may even be able to get counsel fees if the court finds that he acted improperly in some way. Although you could probably process this application yourself, you may want to seek the assistance of an attorney to help you with this. Good luck!
