Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Reinstating maiden name post-divorce plus now living in a different state than w

Question is two-fold: My divorce was processed and finalized last year in New York (the state in which I was married). I would like to reinstate my maiden name as my legal last name and also now reside in New Jersey. Question 1: Need I file legal forms to reinstate my maiden name or can I simply start using my maiden name (and ultimately/formally changing it with my employer, SSN, etc.)? Question 2: Due to my new state of residency vs. state of divorce, which state should I file legal forms (if needed)?

Many thanks!

I would think that you could reinstate your maiden name, for the least cost, by having your divorce lawyer in New York file a motion under the divorce judgment to reinstate your maiden name. That what I would do if you were divorced in New Jersey.
