Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

relative adoption

My husband & I are fostering to adopt a relatives child. The child is in AZ and we live here in NJ. I'm flying to AZ this month to pick her up. How long will the adoption process take? Also will the process be done by AZ laws or here in NJ?

Re: relative adoption

The adoption is done where the child resides. If the child is with you it should be done in New Jersey. If the child's parent or parents are will to indicate their consent the adoption will take four to six months.
