Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
Relocation of Child
I have physical custody of my 10yr. old son, and I now, want to move to Texas with him! I'm presently engaged and he is moving to Texas for a better job opportunity. What are my chances of being able to move if the father does not consent to the move?

Good. but you may have to fight your son's father. better to negotiate a reasonable deal. after all, you are the one moving the boy 1400 miles away from his parent. Someone has to carry a lot of the burden of keeping that parent-child relationship as intact as can. Go see a decent divorce attorney.

Re: Relocation of Child
Your chances are good that a judge will approve your moving with the child because the move is a matter of necessity.
Call me if you like.

I actually spent all day in a trial for a case just like this. There is no way I can tell you that your chances are good or bad without knowing more information. I can say that your chances are probably better with a good attorney fighting for you than if you went by yourself.
My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.
