Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

I reside in NJ. My husband and I have not been intimate four four years, just after he cheated on me with a prostitute and brout home a sexually transmitted disease. It is HE who does not wish to be intimate, not me.

My question- does this four years of no intimacy count toward the 18 months required to dissolve the marriage?

Many thanks.

Clearly, you have yet to speak to an attorney and you are looking up information on the Internet. If you want to get divorced, you'll get divorced. No need for 18 months or 18 minutes. Many people get divorced while still living together. Feel free to call me at 732/773/2768 to discuss your case.

New Jersey is a no fault state. This means that the divorce laws are not designed to compel

couples to stay married. A divorce requires only six months of irreconcilable differences during the marriage and one need not specify what the differences are. If you want a divorce now, you get a divorce now. Call me if you like.
