Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
residency
I have 2 kids from my first marriage. I am legally responsible for one and my ex for the other. The one I am responsible for is 19 and not in college and moved out of my house. my ex wants child support for my 16 year old still in her care. I am remarried and I have a 6 year old to support. My ex makes far more money than me. she agreed verbally to not go after me for child support and then wnet back on that when the 19 year old moved out of my house. we all live in NJ and our divorce agreement states that we can not move out of state. my exs mom lives in Florida and over the summer they let the 16 year old get a drivers license in FL, lying about his residence without my permission. can I use this information in court to fight her on child support plus the information that we have a legal document filed with the court stating that all child support have been terminated? and even though the 19 year old moved out I am still providing medical benefits for him and also for the 16 year old.

Re: residency
If you were each support one child and now you no longer support one of them then the mother is entitled to
child support, based on your respective incomes and your supporting a child from your current marriage.
So far as the Florida driving license for the child with the mother it really has nothing to do with your child support obligation for that child.

Re: residency
You should really sit down with an attorney to discuss this situation because it is rather involved.
