Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Residency / Proving Adultery

I was married in CT, but have been living in NJ for 5 months. My husband and I have been separated for more than 18 months and he lives in PA. Is there any way to start the divorce process before I complete one year of living in NJ? If he has committed adultery I wouldn't have to wait a year, but what proof do I have to give and is it much more difficult to do a pro se divorce when the grouds are adultery?

Thanks.

Re: Residency / Proving Adultery

This question gets asked a lot and many people think you need some type of video tape or something and you don't. You also need to know that this a rarely an issue as 98% of divorces settle. With regard to going pro se, everything will be more difficult when you proceed pro se simply because you are not an attorney and don't know what you are doing.

You have many issues going on here which cannot be properly answered on this site. I suggest you at least meet with an attorney to discuss your issues. Many attorneys, such as myself, have free consultations.
