Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Restraining Order

I just had my ex girlfriend served with a temporary restraining order. In the order it states that she is allowed back to the scene, residence, or shared place of business to pick up personal property with the police. She did not LIVE at my residence. I have packed everything up, and left it on the front steps. My question is, DO I NEED TO LET HER INTO MY RESIDENCE WITH THE POLICE ESCORT?

Re: Restraining Order

If you have packed all her things and are making those things available to her as you have described

you will be conforming to the restraining order. The police do not want to get involved with some claim she may make that something of hers in in the house.

Call me if you like.

Re: Restraining Order

I suggest you speak to an attorney and let him or her guide you through the process. RO hearings can be quite complex.
