Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
RIEF BACKGROUND:
I recently/finally had my divorce trial. It took nearly two years because of the courts in NJ, so my trial was coupled with custody, and alimony was laid out. The judge has been biased and partial to my husband all along. We were pro-se, but initially had lawyers. The custody evaluator got paid nearly $12,000 and produced no written report, nor was she able to refer to many of the grievances within the case (I will have to deal with her at another time).
QUESTION:
I need to recuse my judge, and appeal her final verdict. Is this even possible? And if so, what do I do first. I am ordering trial transcripts now.

I'm not really sure why you would recuse a judge that is basically off the case since the trial is over. Filing appeals are very complicated, even for lawyers. You will seriously want to think about hiring a lawyer to help you with this.
I suggest that you schedule an appointment with me. I am a very experienced matrimonial attorney. Appeals are very complicated and expensive. There are also time frames to be dealt with. After you get the transcripts call me.
You need a lawyer, right now. An appeal is complicated, you have to file it on time, and you must follow the court's rules.
I would be happy to assist you. No charge for the consultation, and after we speak you can decide what you would like to do.
But please: hire a lawyer right away!
