Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
rights of father
My ex-wife is primary custodian of my two children. In a two week cycle, she has them eight days, I have them six day.
Because of her work schedule, she leaves at 6:30 am and returns at 7 pm. I work from home. For the past 10 months, the kids get of the bus at my home and get on the bus at my home. We live 2 minutes away. The mornings she has the kids, I pick them up and bring them to my house for school. In a 14 day cycle, I feed the kids eight days, a babysitter 4 days, the mother tw days.
I am paying child support, which supposedly helps for food and clothes. Yet, I pay for the majority of breakfasts and dinners, and all afterschool snacks. I also have paid for at least half the clothes she bought, as well as all of play clothes for my house.
Do I have recource financially, since I feel I am paying her as well as feeding the kids.
I have also been responsible for the past two years in taking them to doctors, sports, lessons, etc, even on her ''nights''.

Child support is figured based upon both your incomes and time spent with the children. You should contact an attorney to see how the child support guidelines might effect your custody obligation.
