Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Run Away Child

My son is in the custody of his paternal grandparents and has run away from home and is heading up to the state I live in. He is stating that he is being abused but no one will do anything because his grandfather is very influential in town. I need to know if there is anything I can do in MY state to be able to keep him up here with me since the NC courts will not rule against my son's grandfather. PLEASE HELP!

Re: Run Away Child

You may apply in New Jersey for custody and ask that the residency requirement be waived because the child is fleeing abusive treatment.

Call me if you like.
