Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Same Sex ''Marriage''

Does the State of NJ recognize same sex ''marriages''? My husbands ex-wife and her girlfriend are ''getting married'' in April. My stepdaughter lives with us, my stepson lives with mother. Does mother's partner have any legal rights over the children? Do I as a legal stepmother?

At this time, no state in the union recognises same sex marriage. As a step mom, you don't have legal rights, but the biological father does. If there are any problems, your husband can bring it to court.
