Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

sharing of assets after divorce

i am a software engineer in nj state on temprory visa(H1).

I want to know if i get divorced does all child care/alimony/asset sharing us laws are applicable to me if my wife, who also is working on temp. visa(H1), goes to court.

we have one child who is 1 yr. old.

If you and/or your wife has/have resided in New Jersey for a year as of this date either of you can file in New Jersey for divorce and the laws of New Jersey will be controlling.
