Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
My sister is trying to get a divorce but her husband keeps postponing it. She is about to lose her house to foreclosure. I want to help by paying her mortgage off but his name is on the deed and I am afraid that he will come forward after I pay it off and say he wants half. What can I do?

You might attempt to buy the mortgage, for the mortgage balance, from the company who owns the mortgage.
In addition to what Mr. Moore said, shouldn't this issue be discussed with her attorney?
She needs a good divorce attorney, and that attorney needs to discuss this with her and then with you and her.
