Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

My sons' father have joint custody

I want to know if their is anything that an be done about my child. I was in court last year with my son's father and he stated that he will call to have visitation right established, this is what he told the Judge in court. My son has not see his father at all and the child is 3 years old at this time soon to turn four. Yes, he is paying childsupport by garnishment. I would like to know is their any law that will permit him from having joint custody of my son. He informed his new wife that he never wanted the baby in the first place, and he refuse to come and see him. I informed him that the child cries for him but have not seen his father. (I feel so bad for my baby) Can I terminate his joint custody rights on this factor...Help me

Re: My sons' father have joint custody

Paying child support is but one element of acting consistently with the role of a parent. The fact that the child's father has not taken any interest in being with the child over this many years is certainly relevant to whether a joint legal custody status would be continued.

I think that you have used "permit" where you mean "prohibit." You should call me at 800 273 7933 so that you and I may discuss your problem.
