Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
spousal support
my husband and I are splitting up after 3 years of marriage and 10 years of being together. I have always been a house wife and have worked for him. Is he liable for taking care of me at least until I get on my feet?

Re: spousal support
While an attorney needs a complete factual account of your circumstances to answer this, in most cases like yours the husband will have to pay spousal support. It is important that you talk directly to an attorney ASAP to get a more accurate opinion.

It seems that you should be entitled to some alimony, as you have indicated.
Your questions are reasonable, and important. It is not possible to give you a short answer.
You really need to sit down with an attorney and get some guidance. The decisions you make now will have a profound, serious and long lasting effect upon you and, if you have any children with this person, it will also affect your children's lives.
