Can spouse enter into a ''contract'' without consent

Can my spouse enter into a ''contract'' (ie. lease agreement) without my consent or to be more specific - against my objections. My spouse leased a car without my knowledge after I told him not to.

There was a time when women were not property owners. When Robert E. Lee married his wife's estate became his. When the South lost the war Mrs. Lee's former estate was seized by the government and renamed Arlington Cemetary, the resting place of the country's war dead. Your husband is free to enter into a contract without your permession.
