Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

In the state of New Jersey, is there a requirement for a child to have their own bedroom by a certain age? My daughter's father currently has custody of her, and he does not have room for her at his apartment, but I have an extra bedroom for her. Is this an issue that the judge will take into consideration when I go back to court to apply for joint custody? I have not lost any rights, I am not a drug user of any kind, and I do not have a criminal record. Her father received custody due to me living with my Aunt at the time, and being in-between jobs.

Custody issues are always decided in the best interests of the child. I suppose your argument is that you have better accomodations for the child than her father does. Not sure how much weight a Judge would put on that depending on what the other factors are; all factors would be taken into consideration. However, it may be one factor under consideration with all other factors when the custodial decision is made; it may very well be the most important one.
