Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Can he substitute someone else?

My husband and I are separated. I have sole custody of my son. My husband has visitation every Sunday. He recently broke a leg and is unable to drive for awhile. Now he insists on having his girlfriend come alone every Sunday to pick up my son and bring him to my husband. I told him that I will not permit this. I've been told that this is illegal unless I approve of the maneuver. The court's decision was for my husband to be involved in the visitations NOT his girlfriends or his buddies. If I don't know the person picking up my son or I don't trust her (she attempted to break in to my home last year)then isn't my decision not to accept her as my son's ''driver'' legitimate? I told my husband that as long as he rides in the car with the driver that everything is OK. I would not stop his visitations with his son. Any response?????

Re: Can he substitute someone else?

You are not required to trust a stranger with your children; nor are you required to trust someone who has acted oddly or inappropriately in the past.
