Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
Sue your attorney
Hired an attorney for custody case. Went to court for a motion.. Had an agreement prior to walking into the court room with opp. attorney. My attorney made it perfectly clear that he was in a rush and did not want to help me get everything that I was asking for.. Get in front of the judge opp. attorney starts saying the agreement. I took notice that Opp. Attorney left something out, so I grabbed my attorny and wrote down what was not said.. My Attorney ASSURING me that it was said.. Get out of court and I question him about it, as he BLEW ME OFF rushing me out Failed to give me a solid answer. REFUSED to check his notes. Left court with out getting a copy of the order. I wrote my attorney an email ( paper trail ) following up with what was missing. he agreed Sent a letter to other attorney ADMITTING that he blew me off in front of the judge cause he was in a rush... and that something was not in the agreement that was agreed upon prior. Opp. Att. Said to bad you agreed. Calls me and tells me that if I want to correct the mistake to hire another attorney... would love to know what to do in the situation. Attorney is not affiliated with this site. Some1 point me in the right direction.

Re: Sue your attorney
You could file a motion to vacate the agreement. You might need one attorney to do that and another for the malpractice issue.
Re: Sue your attorney
Taking notice is nice. Did you tell judge something was missing from the agreement? Did you tell the judge you had read the agreement and that it conformed to your understanding of the agreement?
Call me if you like.
